Jiak Kim House, Singapore

This location was once home to Singapore’s top club and at one point of a time one of the world’s best as well. Now with the reinvention into a fine dining restaurant from the artistic mind of Chef-Partner Seow Tzi Qin or also well known as Chef TQ. This gastronomic venue is set to elevate the food and beverage world.

With a wealth of experience, Chef TQ has finally set up his very own restaurant to much applause. Modern Asian Cuisine is served here showcasing the best of Southeast Asian flavours with touches from the west. The spacious seating is contemporary at first sight and when you look closer fused with local style and design.

The deletable Seer Fish Otak-Otak is an ideal starter. The familiar street food is enhanced using Spanish mackerel, rich tom yum shellfish bisque (made over many hours) and kaffir lime for that added acidity. The many tantalising textures to this dish will make you want to order another portion.

Gula Jawa Foie Gras is a must for lovers of liver or as we call it (LOL). Perfectly cooked till it has a slight crust on the top and tender on the inside. A twist to the traditional is that it is accompanied with tropical rambutan grapefruit and sweet/spicy ginger caramel. A superb blend of east meets west on a plate.

A course that is a good example of sustainability and zero-waste is the Beef Tongue-To-Tail. Where the kitchen team uses flavoursome rendang shorts ribs, appetising braised oxtail, mouth-watering torch tongue, domino potatoes in a rojak salad. This local salad has a sweet-sour mix of fruits and vegetables with prawn paste.

Dessert fanatics will be contented with Garden Of Naomi which comprises of a beautiful raspberry lychee rose entremet in the middle, dragon’s breath, surrounded with juniper parfait with sorrel. It looks too good to be eaten so take out your cameras and take some photos of this gorgeous dish before indulging.
